we Believe in ourselves as women

we Persevere with the strength of our convictions

we Dare to move into new horizons

Welcome to NAWIC Capital District, Chapter #261! First, we thank you for your interest in our association. The Capital District Chapter of NAWIC is over 50 member strong, including two charter members from our beginning in 1979. Our membership is very diverse - we have many women who work out in the field as well as insurance agents, sales individuals, accountants, project managers, business owners and more.

Our Membership Meetings are held monthly and when creating our meeting schedule we try to incorporate the ideas and interests of the membership by holding different workshops, seminars and continuing education courses as well as conducting our association business. We also engage in job site tours and plenty of inter-association networking during the year. NAWIC is also very active in the community. As a Chapter, we participate in a multitude of events throughout the year. We actively raise money for the Capital Region Food-bank through their CAN-Struction program, we donate goods and funds yearly to the Capital Region YWCA, we offer an annual scholarship to a local high school girl, we host our annual Block Kids event at Watervliet Elementary School and much, much more.

Your NAWIC Membership is not only valuable for marketing yourself and your business locally, but the true value of your membership lies within the bonds created both in your Chapter, Region and the Association as whole. We encourage members to attend Regional and National Forums that are held multiple times throughout the year. During our Forums we have many classes and workshops on Leadership, Professional Development and more. Making connections with other women in our industry is what makes us strong!

We ask you to come to a meeting, meet the Membership and network with us - get to know your peers! For more information or if you have any questions/comments/concerns, please reach out to our Membership Chair - Sandra Cook (, 518-272-8220, Machnick Builders, Ltd.). Please also view our national site located at And, you can now follow us on Facebook & LinkedIn!

Thank you for your support of women in the construction industry. We hope to see you at our next meeting!
